A Ship Of Death- - -as reported in “U. S. News & World Report” (June 25, 2001 issue), a group of so-called “abortion-rights” activists from the Netherlands, called “Women On Waves,” on a boat called the Aurora, have set out to sail to countries where abortions are illegal or tightly restricted, to provide termination of pregnancies for women in “international waters.” Two doctors and a nurse are on board to implement this purpose. I can’t imagine people doing such a thing! To me, it reeks with the stench of evil! That’s why I call it a “ship of death!” By the way, on the matter of “abortion-rights”- - -why, in the name of moral sensibility, should anyone have a “right” to murder an unborn baby in the mother’s womb!?!?
A Closet Of Abuse- - -from a suburb of Dallas came the horrible story of a little 8 year old girl, kept in a dark closet in deplorable conditions for months on end, and allegedly sexually abused and beaten...by her mother and step-father! Terribly malnourished, she only weighed 25 lbs. Though now taken from this despicable ordeal by the state, can you imagine the emotional scars that will haunt her the rest of her life? It is literally heart-breaking! But as inconceivable as such things are, similar horrendous child abuse cases are happening every day throughout our nation. Let us pray fervently to God for the precious little children “trapped” in such atrocious situations. And when within our power to do something about it, let us do so!
I Refuse To Call It, “Being Gay”- - -While calling themselves “gay,” the homosexual lifestyle is much more aptly defined as “perverted.” It is an unnatural, “against nature” practice (read Romans 1:26-27)! It is an abomination in the sight of Almighty God (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13)! From what I’ve read, the things done in “homosexual sex” are unthinkable and disgusting to people of moral conscience. Yet, the proponents of the “homosexual agenda” keep pushing, pushing, and pushing for broad acceptance in our society. They want legalized “homosexual marriages” so that they can have the same benefits of normal marriages. They want the “clergy,” and within the last few days the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., has favorably voted for such to be in that denomination. They want homosexuality to be taught as an alternate lifestyle in the public schools and are making unbelievable strides in accomplishing this. They want in the Boy Scouts, and because the Scouts refused, they are doing their best to undermine and destroy them. And on and on it goes.
An Uphill Battle- - -the teaching of evolution as a fact in America’s schools has become so entrenched that it is going to be almost impossible to get rid of it. But we must keep on trying. Recently, a state representative in Arkansas named Denny Altes, one of a few trying to ban the theory of evolution from being taught in the schools there, said, “If we teach kids they are descended from monkeys, they’ll act like monkeys.” Thanks to Mr. Altes for telling it like it is!
