Speed Test

The Eastex Net speed test is used to determine connection speeds between your DSL modem and our equipment. The Internet is a vast network of computers, routers, and other network equipment, all which contribute to the overall speed at which you receive information from web sites to your computer. Therefore, speeds determined at external web sites (such as PCPitstop.com) are not accurate for determining the Eastex Net DSL quality of service.

Before performing the speed test, please make certain that you DO NOT have any other programs running which require bandwidth to or from the Internet during these tests, as the bandwidth being consumed by those programs will affect your test results. This also includes terminating those programs on other computers or disconnecting or shutting down any other computers, games consoles, or other devices that you might have connected to your DSL network. It is also suggested that you reboot your computer before performing this test.

When you perform the test, make note of the speed result (in kbits) and perform the test at least three times to obtain an average. If the results are not within an acceptable margin (typically 80% of the DSL Package you are subscribed to), then you will need to provide all three of the results (in kbps) to Eastex Net when contacting us. There are more instructions that will be displayed on the resulting speed test screen which explain what we need you to provide us.

Once you have read and understood the information above, please click 'Begin Test' below - the following page allows you to perform the test and will show your results.
